Terje Ojaver

Terje Ojaver (b. 1955) is a sculptor who has created abstract and figurative works, site-specific installations, performative paraphrases, classical sculpture, and video, as well as several monumental sculptures for public spaces. Her work is characterised by the combination of classical sculptural canons with contradictory technical or narrative solutions, blending “high” and “low” categories of art. Ojaver graduated from the Sculpture Department of the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (now the Estonian Academy of Arts) in 1985. She is the recipient of the Estonian State Cultural Scholarship (1994), the Kristjan Raud Prize (2022), and the Order of the Service Cross of the General Johan Laidoner Society (2004). Her most recent solo exhibition, Serpent Wedding, took place at the Tartu Art Museum (2025).
