Laura Kuusk
Laura Kuusk is an artist whose works are connected to recycling anthropological materials. Kuusk was as an associate professor in the Estonian Academy of Arts from 2015–2022. Currently she is studying and working in the field of wastewater engineering. Kuusk mainly uses photography, video and installation mediums in her work. Her latest works address identity construction in the copy-paste culture and relations between natural and human made technology. Kuusk was the laureate of the Édouard Barbe Prize in 2014. She has participated at different artist residencies such as Summerlake (Annecy, 2011), Hard Work Residency (2009), Veranda (St. Martin d’Hères, 2010), Young European Artists’ Residency (Montrouge, 2008), and has herself created an artist residency Résidence du Coup (with Camille Laurelli, 2009–2011).
