Mark Raidpere

Mark Raidpere (b. 1975) is a photographer and video artist who lives and works in Tallinn. He graduated Tallinn School of Communications in photography (1994) and studied film at the former Tallinn Pedagogical University (2000–2003). Since 2019 until present, Raidpere works as a photography and video lecturer in the Scenography Department at the Estonian Academy of Arts. He represented Estonia as a photo and video artist at the 51st Venice Art Biennale with his solo exhibition, Isolator (2005). Raidpere’s works have been exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions at the following institutions among others: Tramway (Glasgow), Platform Garanti (Istanbul), Witte de With (Rotterdam), Fondazione Morra Greco (Naples), Kunsthalle Vienna (Vienna) and Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia (Tallinn). He has received the Prize of the Fine and Applied Arts Endowment in the Cultural Endowment of Estonia (1998 and 2013), Hansapank Art Prize (2005), 1st Prize at Loop Art Fair in Barcelona (2008), Prix Gilles Dusein/Neuflize Vie (Paris, 2008) as well as the Ars Fennica award (2008).
